Positions exist in the Southern
California area nestled between the San Gabriel and
Tehachapi mountains. It is home of four seasons and fresh
air.
It’s a short drive from recreational features, such as
beaches, ski resorts, amusement parks, wineries, off-road
sports, and fishing.
Applicants must meet the
following minimum qualifications
for admittance to the
examination:
Either
Successful completion of
a recognized apprentice program such as: Hydroelectric Plant
Electrician, Hydroelectric Plant Mechanic, or Hydroelectric
Plant Operator. (Apprentices who are within six months of
completion of their apprenticeship may be admitted to
the examination, but they must present evidence of
successful completion of the apprenticeship before they may
be appointed).

Hydroelectric Plant
Electrician I
Hydroelectric Plant Mechanic I
One (1) year of journeyperson experience performing
electrical or mechanical maintenance and repair work on the
heavy equipment used in hydroelectric generating and pumping
plants.
Hydroelectric Plant Operator
Two (2) years of operations experience in one (1) or a
combination of the following: Hydroelectric generating
plants, large (at least 25,000 HP) pumping plants: high
voltage switching and clearances in large (at least 100 MW)
steam plants. (Experience in
substations or switching yard of at least 230 KV may be
substituted for one year of the required experience). |
